The 3rd Regimental Draft embarked the SS Melita in Halifax, Nova Scotia

 

 

Mar 4, 1918

Disembarked in Liverpool, England and proceeded to Seaford where the draft was absorbed into the 6th Reserve Battalion to continue training

 

Jul 18, 1918

While on leave he was admitted to the Endell Street Military Hospital in London with a diagnosis that reads Influenza.  This was later changed to read Pleurisy

 

Jul 25, 1918

Discharged to duty from hospital

 

Aug 8, 1918

Transferred to the 21st Battalion

 

Aug 9, 1918

Arrived at the base depot in France and Taken On Strength of the 21st Battalion

Private Ashley joined the 21st Battalion later and was posted to “C” Company

 

Aug 27, 1918

Private Ashley received a shrapnel wound to his left leg during the advance along the Arras – Cambrai Road and was evacuated to a field ambulance for first aid before being transported to a casualty clearing station

Admitted to the No. 25 General Hospital, Hardelot, France with shrapnel wounds to his left leg

 

Sep 2, 1918

Invalided to England aboard the Hospital Ship St. Denis

 

On arrival in England, he was admitted to the Whipps Cross War Hospital, Leytonstone, London

Transferred to the EORD (Eastern Ontario Regimental Depot) for pay purposes while in hospital

 

Sep 23, 1918

Transferred to the Canadian Convalescent Hospital in Woodcote Park, Epsom

 

Nov 25, 1918

Discharged from hospital and attached to the 1st CCD (Canadian Command Depot) for physical training and exercise

Granted 14 days sick leave

 

Jan 11, 1919

Embarked the SS Olympic in Southampton

 

 

Jan 17, 1919

Disembarked in Halifax, Nova Scotia and proceeded to Kingston, Ontario where he was Taken On Strength of Military District No. 3 Casualty Company

 

Jan 21, 1919

Granted leave until February 3, 1919

 

Feb 10, 1919

Discharged from the CEF in Kingston, Ontario
