After leaving the reinforcement camp, Private Beck joined the 21st Battalion near Cagnicourt, France as part of a draft of 24 reinforcements and was posted to “B” Company

The 21st Battalion led the 2nd Canadian Division across the Bonn Bridge to enter Germany as part of the Occupying Force and proceeded to Siegburg

Embarked the Western Australia in Havre, France

 

On arrival in England, he was attached to “P” Wing in Witley pending return to Canada

Medical exam in Witley notes that he has pain in both feet that is caused by Flat Feet

Embarked the SS Caronia in Liverpool

Disembarked in Halifax, Nova Scotia and proceeded to Kingston, Ontario by train

Discharged from the CEF in Kingston, Ontario

Charles Fernie Beck died while a patient of the Shaughnessy Hospital in Vancouver, British Columbia of pneumonia and was buried in the Victory Memorial Park in Surrey, British Columbia.  His occupation at the time of death was listed as retired male nurse.
