After leaving the base depot, he joined the CC Rein C (Canadian Corps Reinforcement Camp) in Aubin St. Vaast, France

Before he could leave the reinforcement camp, he was transferred to the 44th Battalion.  The 21st Battalion Part II Orders note 98 men (all conscripted) being transferred to the 44th Battalion on this date.

After leaving the reinforcement Camp, Private Bedard joined the 44th Battalion at the front east of Vimy Ridge

Medical exam at Bramshott makes note of swollen and arthritic great toe of right foot.  Private Bedard claimed that while on board the SS City of Marseilles crossing the Atlantic from Canada to England, a bucket fell on his foot and it has been sore ever since.  He did not seek treatment at the time
