Disembarked in Liverpool, England and the battalion proceeded to Seaford where he was absorbed into the 7th Reserve Battalion to continue training

Transferred to the 21st Battalion

 

Sep 13, 1917

Arrived at the No. 2 CIBD (Canadian Infantry Base Depot) in Etaples, France and Taken On Strength of the 21st Battalion

After leaving the base depot, he joined the CCRC (Canadian Corps Reinforcement Camp) in Villers au Bois, France

At the age of 15, while in the front line at Passchendaele, Belgium, Private Boulton received shrapnel wounds to his face and right leg and was evacuated to the No. 6 CFA (Canadian Field Ambulance) for first aid

Nov 6, 1917

Transferred via the No. 36 AT (Ambulance Train) and admitted to the No. 53 General Hospital in Boulogne, France

Invalided to England aboard the Hospital Ship St. Andrew

 

On arrival in England, he was admitted to the Norfolk War Hospital in Thorpe

Transferred to the EORD (Eastern Ontario Regimental Depot) for pay purposes while in hospital

His true age was revealed when a birth certificate was produced

Transferred to the Canadian Convalescent Hospital in Bearwood Park, Wokingham
