The 3rd Regimental Draft embarked the SS Melita in Halifax, Nova Scotia

 

 

Mar 4, 1918

Disembarked in Liverpool, England and proceeded to Seaford where the draft was absorbed into the 6th Reserve Battalion to continue training

 

Aug 9, 1918

Transferred to the 21st Battalion

 

Arrived at the CIBD (Canadian Infantry Base Depot) in Etaples, France and Taken On Strength of the 21st Battalion

 

Aug 15, 1918

After leaving the base depot, Private Boyce joined the 21st Battalion in Fouquescourt, France and was posted to “A” Company

 

Nov 23, 1918

Sentenced to 21 days Field Punishment No. 1 for being drunk

 

Dec 13, 1918

The 21st Battalion led the 2nd Canadian Division across the Bonn Bridge to enter Germany as part of the Occupying Force and proceeded to Sieburg

 

 

Mar 9, 1919

Proceeded to Namur, Belgium for Guard Duty

 

Mar 31, 1919

Admitted to the No. 7 Canadian General Hospital in Wimereux, France with a diagnosis that reads VDS (Venereal Disease Syphilis)

 

Apr 2, 1919

Invalided to England

On arrival in England, he was admitted to the Canadian Military Hospital in Etchinghill, Lyminge

Transferred to the EORD (Eastern Ontario Regimental Depot) for pay purposes while in hospital

 

Apr 30, 1919

Discharged from hospital and transferred to the 6th Reserve Battalion in Seaford

 

May 18, 1919

Embarked the SS Aquitania in Southampton

 

 

May 25, 1919

Disembarked in Halifax, Nova Scotia and proceeded to Toronto, Ontario where he was Taken On Strength of Military District No. 2

Discharged from the CEF in Toronto, Ontario

Frank Boyce moved to the Ottawa area and became involved in municipal politics in the 1950s and served multiple terms as an Alderman in Ottawa City Hall

Frank George Boyce died while a patient of the Ottawa, Ontario Civic Hospital and was buried in the Merivale, Cemetery
