While in a rest camp, the battalion was bombed by an enemy aircraft and Private Walker was severely wounded and evacuated to the No. 10 CCS (Casualty Clearing Station) where he died that same day and buried in the Lijssenthoek Cemetery, Poperinge, Belgium

 

  

Following the war the British War Medal, Victory Medal, Plaque (Dead Man’s Penny), Scroll and Memorial Cross were sent to his family at 143 Bernice Cr., Toronto, Ontario
