The story below is from the summer 1957 issue of The Communiqué, the post war newsletter of the 21st Battalion Association.  Near the end it mentions that he might have served in Canada during WW2.  The Record of Service prepared by Veterans Affairs Canada in 1956 indicates that he did not serve in the Canadian Forces beyond WW1.
