Transferred to the 21st Battalion

Arrived at the CIBD (Canadian Infantry Base Depot) in Etaples, France and Taken On Strength of the 21st Battalion

After leaving the base depot, he joined the CC Rein C (Canadian Corps Reinforcement Camp) in Aubin St. Vaast, France

 

Sep 19, 1918

After leaving the reinforcement camp, Private Conlin joined the 21st Battalion at the front on the Arras – Cambrai Road just west of the Canal du Nord

 

Oct 11, 1918

During the capture of Iwuy, France, Private Conlin received a severe shrapnel wound to his left buttock and was evacuated to a field ambulance for first aid.

 

Oct 12, 1918

Transferred to the No. 1 CCS (Casualty Clearing Station)

 

Oct 13, 1918

Transferred via the No. 146 AT (Ambulance Train) and admitted to the No. 22 General Hospital in Camiers, France

 

Oct 14, 1918

Surgery performed to remove shrapnel that entered his left buttock and was close to the bowel causing much irritation

 

Oct 20, 1918

Invalided to England aboard the Hospital Ship Ville de Liege

 

On arrival in England, he was admitted to the Cambridge Hospital in Aldershot

Transferred to the EORD (Eastern Ontario Regimental Depot) for pay purposes while in hospital

 

Dec 19, 1918

Transferred to the Granville Canadian Special Hospital in Buxton

 

Feb 11, 1919

Transferred to the Military Convalescent Hospital in Woodcote Park, Epsom

Able to participate in PT and perform light duty in the hospital

 

Mar 12, 1919

Discharged from hospital and transferred to the 6th Reserve Battalion in Seaford

Granted 12 days sick leave

Attached to Military District No. 3 Wing in Kinmel Park, Rhyl pending return to Canada
