Disembarked in England and proceeded to Seaford where the draft was absorbed into the 6th Reserve Battalion to continue training

Transferred to the 21st Battalion

 

Sep 27, 1918

Arrived at the CIBD (Canadian Infantry Base Depot) in Etaples, France and Taken On Strength of the 21st Battalion

 

Sep 28, 1918

After leaving the base depot, he joined the CC Rein C (Canadian Corps Reinforcement Camp) in Aubin St. Vaast, France

 

Oct 3, 1918

While still at the reinforcement camp, and not having physically joined the 21st Battalion, Private Coté was transferred to the 44th Battalion

 

Oct 6, 1918

After leaving the reinforcement camp, Private Coté joined the 44th Battalion

Proceeded to England and posted to “E” Wing in Bramshott pending return to Canada

Donat Coté died of Chronic Bronchitis while a patient of the Ottawa Civic Hospital Veterans Pavilion and was buried in the Notre Dame Cemetery, Ottawa, Ontario.  His death was attributed to his front line service however no Memorial Cross was issued as he married after he was discharged and his mother was deceased
