After leaving the base depot, he joined the CC Rein C (Canadian Corps Reinforcement Camp) in Aubin St. Vaast, France

While still at the reinforcement camp, before he could join the 21st Battalion at the front, he was transferred to the 44th Battalion

After leaving the reinforcement camp, Private Courchesne joined the 44th Battalion resting in billets at Douai, France

While the 44th Battalion was advancing near Famars, France, Private Cox received a superficial shrapnel wound to his right arm and evacuated to the No. 11 CFA (Canadian Field Ambulance) for first aid before being transported to the No. 22 CCS (Casualty Clearing Station)

Transferred via the No. 37 AT (Ambulance Train) and admitted to the No. 2 General Hospital in Le Treport, France

 

Nov 23, 1918

Invalided to England aboard the Hospital Ship St. Patrick

 

On arrival in England, he was admitted to the No. 4 Canadian General Hospital in Basingstoke

Transferred to the NBRD (New Brunswick Regimental Depot) for pay purposes while in hospital

 

Dec 18, 1918

Discharged from hospital and transferred to the 13th Reserve Battalion in Witley

Granted 15 days sick leave

Attached to Military District No. 2 Wing in Kinmel Park, Rhyl, pending return to Canada
