SOS (Struck off Strength) the battalion as a deserter

Discharged as a “Deserter”

 

 

There is nothing in the file to indicate that the soldier was ever apprehended or paid any penalty for deserting. 

A report in the Toronto Daily Star, February 17, 1915, reports that he was arrested and sentenced to 90 days in jail for theft from stores on Queen St. 

The Kingston Daily Standard does report on March 2, 1915, that he was arrested in Toronto and was to be returned to Kingston for a Court Martial.  

No record of a Court Martial could be found.
