Disembarked in England and the draft was Taken On Strength of the 6th Reserve Battalion in Seaford to continue training

Transferred to the 21st Battalion

 

Mar 29, 1918

Arrived at the No. 2 CIBD (Canadian Infantry Base Depot) in Etaples, France and Taken On Strength of the 21st Battalion

Apr 3, 1918

After leaving the base depot, he joined the CC Rein C (Canadian Corps Reinforcement Camp) in Calonne, Ricouart, France

After leaving the reinforcement camp, Private Donnelly joined the 21st Battalion in Wailly, France and was posted to “B” Company

During the liberation of Marcelcave, France, Private Donnelly was reported to be missing in action

 

Aug 27, 1918

He was now reported to have been admitted to the No. 8 CFA (Canadian Field Ambulance) with a shrapnel wound to his face.  He was then transported to a casualty clearing station

 

Aug 28, 1918

Transferred to the No. 83 General Hospital in Boulogne, France

 

Sep 1, 1918

Invalided to England aboard the Hospital Ship Pieter de Coninck

 

On arrival in England, he was admitted to the Graylingwell War Hospital in Chichester

Transferred to the EORD (Eastern Ontario Regimental Depot) for pay purposes while in hospital

 

Sep 9, 1918

Surgery performed to repair damage to his jaw

 

Oct 23, 1918

Transferred to the Canadian Red Cross Hospital in the Cooden Camp, Bexhill

 

Dec 17, 1918

Discharged from hospital care and transferred to the 6th Reserve Battalion in Seaford

Granted 12 days sick leave

Attached to Military District No. 7 Wing in Kinmel Park, Rhyl pending return to Canada
