Arrived at No. 2CIBD (Canadian Infantry Base Depot) in Etaples, France and TOS (Taken On Strength) the 21st Battalion with rank of Captain

After leaving the base depot, he joined the CCRC (Canadian Corps Reinforcement Camp) in Aubin St. Vaast, France

 

Apr 2, 1918

After leaving the reinforcement camp, Captain Edwards joined the 21st Battalion in the Support Trench north-west of Neuville Vitasse and was posted to “D” Company.

 

May 5, 1918

Admitted to CFA (Canadian Field Ambulance) with Appendicitis, and transferred to No 3 CCS (Casualty Clearing Station)

 

May 6, 1918

Admitted to the No. 6 CFA (Canadian Field Ambulance) with a diagnosis that reads Acute Appendicitis and was transferred to the No. 45 CCS (Casualty Clearing Station)

 

May 7, 1918

Transferred to the No. 3 Casualty Clearing Station

 

May 11, 1918

Died at No 3 CCS of Acute Appendicitis and buried in the Bagneux Military Cemetery, Gezaincourt, France

 

 
Following his death, the Memorial Cross, British War Medal and Victory Medals were sent to his mother, Mrs. Mary Edwards at 111 King St. E., Brockville, Ontario

The Plaque (Dead Man’s Penny) and Scroll were sent to his father, Walter Edwards, at the same address
