After leaving the base depot, he joined the CC Rein C (Canadian Corps Reinforcement Camp) in Aubin St. Vaast, France

After leaving the reinforcement camp, Private Emery joined the 21st Battalion on the south side of the Arras – Cambrai Road, south east of Vis en Artois, France

 

Oct 11, 1918

During the liberation of the town of Iwuy, France, Private Emery received as shrapnel wound to his right shoulder and was evacuated to the No. 9 CFA (Canadian Field Ambulance) for first aid before being transported to the nearby CCS (Casualty Clearing Station)

 

Oct 16, 1918

Invalided to England aboard the Hospital Ship Ville de Liege

 

On arrival in England, he was admitted to the Edmonton War Hospital in London

Transferred to the EORD (Eastern Ontario Regimental Depot) for pay purposes while in hospital

 

Nov 1, 1918

Transferred to the Canadian Military Convalescent Hospital in Woodcote Park, Epsom

 

Nov 19, 1918

Developed Impetigo on his face while in hospital

 

Dec 9, 1918

Discharged from hospital care and transferred to the 6th Reserve Battalion in Seaford

Granted 10 days sick leave

 

Dec 27, 1918

Attached to Military District No. 3 Wing in Kinmel Park, Rhyl pending return to Canada
