Transferred to the 39th Reserve Battalion and posted to the 3rd Brigade Signal Base in West Sandling

Transferred to the 21st Battalion

 

Sep 22, 1916

Arrived at the CBD (Canadian Base Depot) in the Rouelles Camp, Havre, France and Taken On Strength of the 21st Battalion

After leaving the base depot, Private Evans joined the 21st Battalion in Bully Grenay, France and was posted to “A” Company

Admitted to the No. 5 CFA (Canadian Field Ambulance) with a diagnosis that reads PUO (Pyrexia of Unknown Origin), a fever without a known cause.  This was later changed to read Myalgia in back and legs

Discharged from the field ambulance and rejoined the 21st Battalion in Calonne, France

Rejoined the battalion in the Alberta Camp in Carency, France from duty with the 4th Brigade

Attached to the 2nd Canadian Division Salvage Company for duty

Rejoined the battalion in front line on the Arras – Cambrai Road at Canal du Nord, France

The 21st Battalion led the 2nd Canadian Division across the Bonn Bridge to enter Germany as part of the Occupying Force and proceeded to Siegburg
