The 3rd Regimental Draft embarked the SS Melita in Halifax, Nova Scotia

 

 

Mar 4, 1918

Disembarked in Liverpool, England and proceeded to Seaford where the draft was absorbed into the 6th Reserve Battalion to continue training

 

Aug 9, 1918

Transferred to the 21st Battalion

 

Aug 10, 1918

Arrived at the CIBD (Canadian Infantry Base Depot) in Etaples, France.  From here, he moved to the CCRC (Canadian Corps Reinforcement Camp) in Aubin St. Vaast, France.

 

Aug 13, 1918

After leaving the reinforcement camp, Private Ferrigan joined the 21st Battalion south-east of Marcelcave, France

 

Aug 26, 1918

During fighting west of the Sensee River, south of Vis en Artois, France, Private Ferrigan was wounded by a machine gun bullet to his left leg that fractured his femur.  He was evacuated to the No. 4 CFA (Canadian Field Ambulance) for first aid before being transferred to the No. 42 CCS (Casualty Clearing Station)

 

Aug 27, 1918

Transferred via the No. 6 AT (Ambulance Train) and admitted to the No. 8 Stationary Hospital in Wimereux, France

 

Sep 8, 1918

Invalided to England aboard the Hospital Ship Pieter de Coninck

 

On arrival in England, he was admitted to the 4th London General Hospital, Denmark Hill, London

Transferred to the EORD (Eastern Ontario Regimental Depot) for pay purposes while in hospital

 

Mar 18, 1919

Transferred to the No. 15 Canadian General Red Cross Hospital in Taplow Bucks

On admission, he was noted as being able to walk with a Caliper Splint

 

Apr 3, 1919

Granted 10 days leave from the hospital

 

Apr 16, 1919

Transferred to the No. 5 Canadian General Hospital in Kirkdale, Liverpool

 

May 5, 1919

Embarked the Hospital Ship Essequibo in Liverpool

 

 

May 17, 1919

Disembarked in Portland, Maine, USA and proceeded to Kingston, Ontario where he was Taken On Strength of Military District No. 3

 

May 18, 1919

On arrival in Kingston, he was admitted to the Queen’s Military Hospital

 

May 19, 1919

After being assessed, he was granted leave until June 2, 1919

Discharged to duty from hospital and posted to Military District No. 3 Casualty Company in Kingston

Edwin’s wife, Fanny Lila Ferrigan died in Ottawa, Ontario and was buried in the Beechwood Cemetery in Ottawa

Married to Alice Maud Dent in Ottawa, Ontario

Edwin Joseph Ferrigan died in Ottawa, Ontario and was buried in the Notre Dame Cemetery in Ottawa
