o       This was later reorganized into “A” Company.  Prior to embarking for England, he was transferred into the Depot Company Signal Section

Disembarked at Devonport England and proceeded to the West Sandling Camp, near Hythe Kent

 

Aug 28, 1915

Transferred from the Depot Company to “A” Company

Embarked the St Seiriol at Folkestone

 

 

Sep 15, 1915

Disembarked at Boulogne France and proceeded to St Omer

 

Nov 4, 1916

Awarded the Good Conduct Badge

 

Nov 25, 1916

Granted leave of absence until December 5, 1916

 

Dec 11, 1916

Attached to the 2nd Canadian Division Signal Company for duty

Granted 14 days leave of absence

Transferred to the 21st Battalion but remained attached to the 2nd Canadian Division Signal Company 

I could find no entry that showed him returning to the 21st Battalion, but the next entry shows him proceeding to England with the 21st Battalion

Embarked the Western Australia at Havre

 

Transferred to the Records List and proceeded to the Canadian Embarkation Camp at Witley England pending return to Canada

 

May 10, 1919

Embarked the SS Olympic at Southampton

 

 

May 16, 1919

Disembarked at Halifax Nova Scotia and proceeded to Kingston Ontario

 

May 19, 1919

Discharged from the CEF at Kingston Ontario 

Ø      War Service Badge Class “A” issued number 184613

Ø      Rank on discharge Private

Ø      Proposed residence on discharge – Donald St, Belleville Ontario 

His discharge took place just 5 days prior to the arrival of the 21st Battalion in Kingston.  There is no evidence that he remained in Kingston to greet his old comrades
