Disembarked at Liverpool England and proceeded to the Borden Camp

Appointed to the Provisional Rank of Corporal 

This is in fact a confirmation of his promotion in December of 1915

The Battalion was moved to the Bramshott Camp

Posted to the 21st Battalion

 

Oct 6, 1916

Reverted to the rank of Private in order to proceed to France 

Arrived at the CBD (Canadian Base Depot) at Havre France as part of a draft of 100 men from the 109th Battalion and TOS (Taken On Strength) of the 21st Battalion.

 

Oct 20, 1916

Left the CBD to join his unit

 

Oct 22, 1916

Joined the 21st Battalion in the field 

The Battalion was in Divisional Reserve at Bully Grenay.  While there, they conducted training and from the War Diary “was bathed and received, in the majority of cases, fresh underwear, which was appreciated by all.”
