Arrived at the CIBD (Canadian Infantry Base Depot) in Etaples, France and Taken On Strength of the 21st Battalion

After leaving the base depot, Private Gutteridge joined the 21st Battalion in Fouquescourt, France and was posted to “A” Company

Transferred to the No. 56 General Hospital in Etaples, France

There are no entries in his file to indicate the date or location of his injury.  On admission to hospital, his wound is noted as a Gun Shot Wound to his neck

Invalided to England aboard the Hospital Ship Stad Antwerpen

 

On arrival in England, he was admitted to the Military Hospital in Colchester.  On admission his wound is described as a flesh wound

Transferred to the EORD (Eastern Ontario Regimental Depot) for pay purposes while in hospital

 

Sep 6, 1918

Transferred to the Canadian Convalescent Hospital in Woodcote Park, Epsom.  On admission, his wound is noted as a small scratch on the right side of his neck and that it has healed.

 

Sep 20, 1918

Discharged from hospital and transferred to the 6th Reserve Battalion in Seaford

Granted 12 days sick leave

Sentenced to 21 days Field Punishment No. 2 for being Absent Without Leave from October 2 until October 17, 1918
