Disembarked in Liverpool, England and proceeded to Witley where the draft was absorbed into the 4th Reserve Battalion

Transferred to the 1st Battalion

Arrived at the CBD (Canadian Base Depot) in Etaples, France and Taken On Strength of the 1st Battalion

 

Sep 25, 1918

After leaving the base depot, he joined the CCRC (Canadian Corps Reinforcement Camp) in Aubin St. Vaast, France

 

Sep 29, 1918

While still at the base depot, and before he could join the 1st Battalion at the front, he was diverted and transferred to the 21st Battalion

 

Oct 2, 1918

After leaving the reinforcement camp, Private Hardy joined the 21st Battalion south – west of Bourlon, France and was posted to “B” Company

 

Dec 13, 1918

The 21st Battalion led the 2nd Canadian Division across the Bonn Bridge to enter Germany as part of the Occupying Force and proceeded to Sieburg

 

 

Apr 3, 1919

Embarked the Western Australia in Havre


 

On arrival in England, he was attached to “P” Wing in Witley pending return to Canada

 

May 14, 1919

Embarked the SS Caronia in Liverpool


 

May 24, 1919

Discharged from the CEF in Kingston, Ontario

Ø  Rank on discharge Private

Ø  War Service Badge Class “A” issued number 279893

Ø  Proposed residence on discharge Richmond St., London, Ontario

Following his discharge, the British War Medal and Victory Medals were sent to him at 1312 George Ave., East Windsor, Ontario

Reginald Hardy found employment with the Bell Telephone Company until his retirement

Married to Eva Brown in Windsor, Ontario

 

Jan 9, 1968

Reginald Daniel Hardy died while a patient of the IODE Hospital (now known as the Windsor Western Hospital) in Windsor, Ontario and was buried in the Green Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Windsor
