Disembarked in Liverpool, England and the battalion proceeded to the Otterpool Camp

After being quarantined for 10 days, the battalion proceeded to the East Sandling Camp and transferred to the 2nd Canadian Reserve Battalion

Transferred to the CMGD (Canadian Machine Gun Depot) in Crowborough

Transferred back to the 164th Battalion in Witley

Before he could join the 21st Battalion, Private Heatley was diverted and transferred to the CMGR (Canadian Machine Gun Regimental) Pool

Transferred to the 2nd Canadian Motor Machine Gun Brigade in Ourton, France

 

Nov 4, 1918

While moving towards Haveluy, France, Private Heatley received a shrapnel wound to his right hand and was evacuated to the No. 13 CFA (Canadian Field Ambulance) for first aid before being transported to the No. 42 CCS (Casualty Clearing Station) where the middle finger of his right hand was amputated

Transferred to the No. 22 General Hospital in Camiers, France

 

Nov 8, 1918

Invalided to England aboard the Hospital Ship Ville de Liege

 

On arrival in England, he was admitted to the 2nd Western General Hospital in Manchester

Transferred to the Canadian Machine Gun Corps Depot for pay purposes while in hospital

 

Nov 13, 1918

Transferred to the Bank Meadow General Hospital

 

Nov 23, 1918

Transferred to the Military Convalescent Hospital in Woodcote Park, Epsom

 

Feb 21, 1919

Discharged from hospital and granted sick leave until March 6, 1919

Transferred to the Canadian Machine Gun Depot in Seaford

 

May 6, 1919

Embarked the SS Scotian in Liverpool

 

 

May 15, 1919

Disembarked in Montreal, Quebec and proceeded to Toronto, Ontario where he was Taken On Strength of the Military District No. 2 in Toronto

 

May 16, 1919

Discharged from the CEF in Toronto, Ontario

Following his discharge, the British War Medal and Victory Medals were sent to him at RR #1, Campbellville, Ontario

Daniel James Heatley died in 1982 and was buried in the Limehouse Presbyterian Cemetery, Limehouse, Ontario
