Disembarked in Liverpool and transferred to the 1st Reserve Battalion.  The draft was placed in the Segregation Camp in Seaford to ensure there were no cases of influenza in the group.

Discharged from the segregation camp and joined the 1st Reserve Battalion in Seaford

Transferred to the 29th Battalion

 

Sep 14, 1918

Arrived at the CIBD (Canadian Infantry Base Depot) in Etaples, France and Taken On Strength of the 29th Battalion

After leaving the base depot, he joined the CCRC (Canadian Corps Reinforcement Camp) in Aubin St. Vaast, France

 

Sep 19, 1918

While still at the reinforcement camp and before he could join the 29th at that front, he was diverted and transferred to the 21st Battalion

After leaving the reinforcement camp, Private Huges joined the 21st Battalion near Buissy, France

 

Oct 11, 1918

During the capture of Iwuy, France, Private Hughes received a shrapnel wound to his back and was evacuated to a field ambulance for first aid

Transferred to the No. 33 CCS (Casualty Clearing Station)

 

Oct 14, 1918

Transferred via the No. 29 AT (Ambulance Train) and admitted to the No. 11 Stationary Hospital in Rouen, France

 

Oct 16, 1918

Invalided to England aboard the Hospital Ship Essequibo

 

On arrival in England, he was admitted to the No. 15, Canadian General Hospital in Taplow

Transferred to the EORD (Eastern Ontario Regimental Depot) for pay purposes while in hospital

Transferred to the No. 5 Canadian General Hospital in Kirkdale, Liverpool

Embarked the Hospital Ship Essequibo in Liverpool

Disembarked in Halifax, Nova Scotia and proceeded to Vancouver, British Columbia where he was Taken On Strength of Military District No. 11 Casualty Company.  On arrival he was admitted to the Shaughnessy Military Hospital in Vancouver
