He lied about his age, stating that his birth year was 1897, not his actual birth year of 1900.  He was 2 days short of turning 16!

Disembarked in Liverpool, England and the battalion proceeded to Bramshott

Transferred to the 154th Battalion in Bramshott

Transferred to the newly formed 6th Reserve Battalion in East Sandling

The 6th Reserve Battalion moved to Seaford to train reinforcements for the front

Bert Hiram Jones committed suicide at home in Picton, Ontario and was buried in the Glenwood Cemetery in Picton.  Out of respect to the family, his death was reported to the newspaper as a heart attack
