Transferred to the Base Hospital in Toronto, Ontario and Appendicitis was added to the diagnosis.  Surgery was performed to remove his appendix

Discharged to duty from hospital

Granted sick leave until October 4, 1916

Embarked the SS Saxonia in Halifax, Nova Scotia

 

 

Apr 7, 1917

Disembarked in Liverpool, England and the battalion proceeded to Otterpool, before moving on to the East Sandling Camp, where the entire battalion was absorbed into the 2nd Reserve Battalion in East Sandling to continue training

Transferred to the 2nd CORD (Central Ontario Regimental Depot) and remained attached to the 2nd Reserve Battalion

Transferred to the 2nd Reserve Battalion in East Sandling

Transferred to the 8th Reserve Battalion in East Sandling

Arrived at the CIBD (Canadian Infantry Base Depot) in Etaples, France and Taken On Strength of the 54th Battalion

After leaving the base depot, he joined the CCRC (Canadian Corps Reinforcement Camp) in Aubin St. Vaast, France

Transferred to the 21st Battalion while still at the reinforcement camp

 

Oct 3, 1918

After leaving the reinforcement camp, Private Jones joined the 21st Battalion east of Arras, France and was posted to “D” Company

The 21st Battalion led the 2nd Canadian Division across the Bonn Bridge to enter Germany as part of the Occupying Force and proceeded to Siegburg

Embarked the Western Australia in Havre, France

 

On arrival in England, he was attached to “P” Wing in Witley pending return to Canada

Embarked the SS Caronia in Liverpool

Disembarked in Halifax, Nova Scotia and proceeded to Kingston, Ontario by train

 

May 24, 1919

Discharged from the CEF in Kingston, Ontario
