station without having been involved in any combat with the battalion. He was buried in the nearby Lapugnoy Military
Cemetery, Lapugnoy, France.
Following the war the British War Medal, Victory
Medal, Plaque (Dead Man’s Penny), Scroll and Memorial Cross were sent to his widow,
Mrs. Hester Mae Blakely, RR #1 Holloway, Ontario
A second Memorial Cross was sent to his mother,
Mrs. Alzina Kennedy, Stirling, Ontario
