Disembarked in Glasgow, Scotland and proceeded to Seaford, England where the draft was absorbed into the 6th Reserve Battalion to continue training

On arrival, he reverted to the rank of Private

Transferred to the 21st Battalion

Arrived at the CIBD (Canadian Infantry Base Depot) in Etaples, France and Taken On Strength of the 21st Battalion

After leaving the base depot, he joined the CC Rein C (Canadian Corps Reinforcement Camp) in Aubin St. Vaast, France

 

Jun 23, 1918

After leaving the reinforcement camp, Private Larin joined the 21st Battalion resting in Bretencourt, France

 

Aug 16, 1918

During a move to Caix, France, Private Larin received a through and through shrapnel wound that fractured his right arm and he was evacuated to a field ambulance for first aid

 

Aug 17, 1918

Transferred to the No. 49 CCS (Casualty Clearing Station)

 

Aug 20, 1918

Invalided to England aboard the Hospital Ship Gloucester Castle

 

On arrival in England, he was admitted to the Northamptonshire War Hospital in Duston

Transferred to the EORD (Eastern Ontario Regimental Depot) for pay purposes while in hospital

 

Dec 21, 1918

Transferred to the Military Convalescent Hospital in Woodcote Park, Epsom

 

Jan 22, 1919

Attached to the 1st CCD (Canadian Command Depot) in Witley for physical training and exercise

Granted 10 days sick leave

 

Mar 4, 1919

Discharged from hospital care and transferred to the 6th Reserve Battalion in Seaford

 

Mar 22, 1919

Transferred to Military District Wing No. 3 in Kinmel Park, Rhyl pending return to Canada

In 1972 Harvey Lain was inducted into the Cornwall Sports Hall of Fame for Lacrosse and Hockey.  He played both junior and senior lacrosse.  He also played semi-professional hockey in the USA

Harvey Larin died and was buried in the La Nativite Cemetery, Cornwall, Ontario
