After leaving the base depot, Private Lecuyer joined the 21st Battalion in Fouquescourt, France

 

Sep 25, 1918

During fighting west of Canal du Nord, north of Baralle, France, Private Lecuyer was overcome by Mustard Gas and evacuated to the British London Highland 2/1 Field Ambulance for first aid before being transported to the No. 1 CCS (Casualty Clearing Station)

 

Sep 28, 1918

Transferred via the No. 6 AT (Ambulance Train) and admitted to the No. 25 General Hospital in Hardelot, France

 

Oct 7, 1918

Invalided to England aboard the Hospital Ship Pieter de Coninck

 

On arrival in England, he was admitted to the 2nd Eastern General Hospital in Brighton

Transferred to the EORD (Eastern Ontario Regimental Depot) for pay purposes while in hospital

 

Nov 16, 1918

Transferred to the Princess Patricia Canadian Red Cross Hospital in the Cooden Camp, Bexhill and Chronic Bronchitis was added to the diagnosis

 

Dec 23, 1918

Granted 10 days sick leave

 

Jan 4, 1919

Transferred to the No. 5 Canadian General Hospital in Kirkdale, Liverpool

Embarked the Hospital Ship Araguaya in Liverpool

Charles Philippe Lecuyer died of Heart Failure in Winooski, Vermont, USA and was buried in the Resurrection Park Cemetery, Burlington, Vermont, USA.  His death was attributed to his front line service with the 21st Battalion, however no Memorial Cross was issued as his wife and mother had predeceased him.
