The 9th Regimental Draft embarked the SS Missanabie in Halifax, Nova Scotia

Disembarked in England and proceeded to Witley where the entire draft was Taken On Strength of the 3rd Reserve Battalion to continue training

Admitted to the Canadian Special Hospital in Witley for treatment for his previous Gonorrhea infection

Discharged to duty from hospital

 

Aug 7, 1918

Sentenced to 10 days Field Punishment No. 2 for failing to report for treatment of his Gonorrhea infection

 

Sep 12, 1918

Transferred to the 19th Battalion

 

Sep 13, 1918

Arrived at the CIBD (Canadian Infantry Base Depot) in Etaples, France and Taken On Strength of the 19th Battalion

 

Sep 16, 1918

After leaving the base depot, he joined the CC Rein C (Canadian Corps Reinforcement Camp) in Aubin St. Vaast, France

 

Sep 21, 1918

While still at the reinforcement camp he was transferred to the 21st Battalion without having joined the 19th Battalion at the front

 

Sep 22, 1918

After leaving the reinforcement camp, Private Leitch joined the 21st Battalion in the support line near Buissy, France

 

Oct 12, 1918

During the relief from the fighting at Iwuy, France, Private Leitch received shrapnel wounds to his hands and right hip.  He was evacuated to a field ambulance for first aid before being transported to the No. 22 CCS (Casualty Clearing Station)

 

Oct 13, 1918

Transferred to the No. 83 General Hospital in Boulogne, France

 

Oct 16, 1918

Invalided to England aboard the Hospital Ship St. Denis

 

On arrival in England, he was admitted to the Horton, County of London War Hospital in Epsom

Transferred to the EORD (Eastern Ontario Regimental Depot) for pay purposes while in hospital

 

Jan 14, 1919

Transferred to the Canadian Convalescent Hospital in Woodcote Park, Epsom.  On admission, he is noted as being unable to walk without a cane

 

Feb 3, 1919

Sentenced to 4 days CB (Confined to Barracks) and forfeited 1 day’s pay for being absent for 7 hours and 45 minutes

 

Mar 28, 1919

Discharged from hospital and granted 12 days sick leave

 

Apr 9, 1919

Ceased to be on leave and posted to the Depot Company, Eastern Ontario Regimental Depot in Seaford

 

Apr 23, 1919

Transferred to Military District No. 2 Wing in Kinmel Park, Rhyl pending return to Canada

 

May 3, 1919

Sentenced to 5 days Field Punishment No. 2 for being absent from parade

 

May 11, 1919

Embarked the SS Saturnia in Glasgow, Scotland

 

 

May 22, 1919

Disembarked in Montreal, Quebec

 

May 23, 1919

Discharged from the CEF in Toronto, Ontario
