Transferred to the 6th Reserve Battalion in Seaford

 

Aug 9, 1918

Transferred to the 21st Battalion

Arrived at the CIBD (Canadian Infantry Base Depot) in Etaples, France and Taken On Strength of the 21st Battalion

After leaving the base depot, Private Macksey joined the 21st Battalion in Fouquescourt, France

 

Aug 28, 1918

While the battalion was advancing along the Arras – Cambrai Road southeast of Vis en Artois, France, Private Macksey received a shrapnel wound to his right buttock.  He was evacuated to a field ambulance for first aid before being transported to a casualty clearing station where surgery was performed to remove shrapnel

 

Aug 31, 1918

Transferred to the No. 83 General Hospital in Boulogne, France

 

Sep 2, 1918

Invalided to England aboard the Hospital Ship St. David

 

On arrival in England, he was admitted to the Whipps Cross War Hospital in Leytonstone, Colchester

Transferred to the EORD (Eastern Ontario Regimental Depot) for pay purposes while in hospital

 

Oct 16, 1918

Transferred to the Military Convalescent Hospital in Woodcote Park, Epsom

 

Nov 12, 1918

Transferred to the Manor, County of London War Hospital in Epsom

 

Dec 11, 1918

Transferred the No. 16, Canadian General Hospital in Orpington, Kent

 

Jan 7, 1919

Discharged from hospital and transferred to the 6th Reserve Battalion in Seaford

Granted 10 days sick leave

 

Jan 21, 1919

Attached to Military District No. 2 Wing in Kinmel Park, Rhyl pending return to Canada
