After leaving the base depot, he joined the CC Rein C (Canadian Corps Reinforcement Camp) in Aubin St. Vaast, France

After leaving the reinforcement camp, Private Marie joined the 21st Battalion resting in Manin, France.  He was part of a draft of 10 reinforcements and was posted to “B” Company

 

Aug 26, 1918

While advancing south of the Arras – Cambrai Road towards Guemappe, France, Private Marie received a shrapnel wound to his right foot and was evacuated to the No. 4 CFA (Canadian Field Ambulance) for first aid before being transported to the No. 42 CCS (Casualty Clearing Station)

Transferred via the No. 20 AT (Ambulance Train) and admitted to the No. 22 General Hospital in Camiers, France

 

Sep 2, 1918

Invalided to England aboard the Hospital Ship Newhaven

 

On arrival in England, he was admitted to the 1st Western General Hospital in Fazackerley, Liverpool

Transferred to the EORD (Eastern Ontario Regimental Depot) for pay purposes while in hospital

 

Sep 16, 1918

Transferred to the Sefton Park Auxiliary Military Hospital in Liverpool

 

Nov 11, 1918

Transferred to the KCRCH (King’s Canadian Red Cross Hospital) in Bushy Park, Hampton Heath, London

 

Nov 27, 1918

Discharged from hospital care and transferred to the 6th Reserve Battalion in Seaford

I could find no resolution to this marriage, but he later married Marie Ange Laurin

Joseph Edmond Marie died in Hull, Quebec and was buried in the Notre Dame Cemetery in Hull
