Transferred to the 21st Battalion

Arrived at the CIBD (Canadian Infantry Base Depot) in Etaples, France and Taken On Strength of the 21st Battalion

 

Aug 15, 1918

After leaving the base depot, Private McDonald joined the 21st Battalion near Fouquescourt, France and was posted to “A” Company

 

Aug 26, 1918

During fighting west of the Sensee River, south-west of Vis en Artois, France, Private McDonald received a shrapnel wound to his leg and was evacuated to a field ambulance for first aid before being transported to a casualty clearing station

 

Aug 27, 1918

Transferred to the No. 12 Stationary Hospital in St. Pol, France

 

Aug 29, 1918

Transferred via the No. 29 AT (Ambulance Train) and admitted to the No. 4 General Hospital in Camiers, France

 

Sep 3, 1918

Invalided to England aboard the Hospital Ship Princess Elizabeth

 

On arrival in England, he was admitted to the Lord Derby War Hospital in Warrington

Transferred to the EORD (Eastern Ontario Regimental Depot) for pay purposes while in hospital

 

Feb 3, 1919

Transferred to the Military Convalescent Hospital in Epsom

 

Mar 12, 1919

Discharged from hospital care and transferred to the 6th Reserve Battalion in Seaford

Granted 10 days sick leave

 

Apr 2, 1919

Transferred to Military District Wing No. 3 in Kinmel Park, Rhyl pending return to Canada
