Transferred to the CFCD (Canadian Forestry Corps Depot) in Sunningdale

 

Jun 10, 1917

Transferred to the No. 42 Company, Canadian Forestry Corps in Sunningdale

 

Jun 11, 1917

No. 42 Company disembarked in Havre, France and proceeded to Alencon

 

Oct 16, 1917

Sentenced to forfeit 7 days pay for being in a café during prohibited hours

 

Aug 10, 1918

Granted 14 days leave to the United Kingdom

Rejoined No. 42 Company in Alencon from leave

Transferred to Military District No. 11 at Kinmel Park, Rhyl pending return to Canada

Embarked the SS Canada in Liverpool

Disembarked in Halifax, Nova Scotia and proceeded to Vancouver, British Columbia where he was Taken On Strength of Military District No. 11 Casualty Company

Discharged from the CEF in Vancouver, British Columbia

In 1922 Hayward was arrested in Aukland, New Zealand and charged with “idle and disorderly insufficient means”.  He was tried and released the same day

Hayward McKay died in Auckland, New Zealand and was buried in the North Shore Memorial Park in Auckland
