Private McMillan was admitted to the 8th CFA and then the next day to the 12th Stationary Hospital St. Pol for self inflicted GSW (gun shot wound) to the foot. There was a wound to the 2nd toe of the left foot and slight wound to the 3rd toe of the same foot. An inquiry was held to determine how the injury occurred, and it was found that “a rifle lying on the ground exploded while moving some equipment”. Private McMillan was found negligent but not responsible for the accident.
