Arrived at the CIBD (Canadian Infantry Base Depot) in Etaples, France and Taken On Strength of the 21st Battalion

After leaving the base depot, Private McMullan joined the 21st Battalion west of Fouquescourt, France and was posted to “B” Company

Proceeded to St. Pol, France on Escort Duty

Rejoined the 21st Battalion in billets in Auberchicourt, France

The 21st Battalion led the 2nd Canadian Division across the Bonn Bridge to enter Germany as part of the Occupying Force and proceeded to Sieburg

Appointed to the rank of Lance Corporal

 

Feb 27, 1919

Admitted to the No. 6 CFA (Canadian Field Ambulance) with a diagnosis that reads PUO (Pyrexia of Unknown Origin), sometimes referred to as Trench Fever

Transferred to the No. 4 Canadian Field Ambulance

 

Mar 4, 1919

After being discharged from hospital care, L/Cpl McMullan rejoined the 21st Battalion in Ham Sur Sambre, Belgium

Embarked the Western Australia in Havre, France

 

On arrival in England, he was attached to “P” Wing in Witley pending return to Canada

Embarked the SS Caronia in Liverpool
