Sentenced to 7 days Field Punishment No. 2 for being AWL (Absent Without Leave) and disregarding Battalion Standing Orders

Arrived at the CIBD (Canadian Infantry Base Depot) in Etaples, France and Taken on Strength of the 1st Battalion

While still at the reinforcement camp, and before he could join the 1st Battalion at the front, he was transferred to the 21st Battalion

After leaving the reinforcement camp, Private Mitchell joined the 21st Battalion on the Hindenburg line near Cambrai, France as part of a draft of 156 reinforcements and was posted to “D” Company

 

Dec 13, 1918

The 21st Battalion led the 2nd Canadian Division across the Bonn Bridge to enter Germany as part of the Occupying Force and proceeded to Sieburg

 

 

Mar 9, 1919

Proceeded to Namur, Belgium on Guard Duty

 

Apr 3, 1919

Embarked the Western Australia in Havre, France

 

On arrival in England, he was attached to “P” Wing in Witley pending return to Canada

 

Apr 21, 1919

Admitted to the Canadian Special Hospital in Witley with a diagnosis that reads “20”.  This is a code used for Venereal Disease Gonorrhea

 

May 3, 1919

Transferred to the EORD (Eastern Ontario Regimental Depot) for pay purposes while in hospital

Discharged from hospital and transferred to “S” Wing in Witley pending return to Canada

Transferred to the WORD (Western Ontario Regimental Depot) in Witley
