Disembarked in Glasgow, Scotland and proceeded to Seaford, England where the draft was absorbed into the 6th Reserve Battalion to continue training

Transferred to the 21st Battalion

 

Jun 11, 1918

Arrived at the CIBD (Canadian Infantry Base Depot) in Etaples, France and Taken On Strength of the 21st Battalion

After leaving the base depot, he joined the CCRC (Canadian Corps Reinforcement Camp) in Aubin St. Vaast, France

It appears that at least 1 page is missing from the file as there is no date recorded as to when he joined the 21st Battalion at the front.  It is noted however that he was posted to “B” Company

The date that he received a shrapnel wound to his leg in not recorded either.  He was noted in the Part 1 Orders as initially being reported as being missing in action.  It would appear that he may have been wounded August 26 while the battalion was advancing towards the Cojeul River east of Guemappe, France

Transferred to the No. 12 Stationary Hospital in St. Pol, France

 

Aug 30, 1918

Transferred via the No. 23 AT (Ambulance Train) and admitted to the No. 2 Australian General Hospital in Boulogne, France

 

Sep 2, 1918

Invalided to England aboard the Hospital Ship Cambria

 

On arrival in England, he was admitted to the Bevan Military Hospital in Sandgate

Transferred to the EORD (Eastern Ontario Regimental Depot) for pay purposes while in hospital

 

Sep 23, 1918

Transferred to the Military Hospital in Shorncliffe

 

Sep 26, 1918

Transferred to the Princess Patricia Canadian Red Cross Hospital in the Cooden Camp, Bexhill
