Valenciennes, France, Private Papillon was instantly killed by a machine gun
bullet and subsequently buried in the Aulnoy Communal Cemetery,
Aulnoy-lez-Valenciennes, France.
Following the end of the war, the Memorial Cross,
British War Medal, Victory Medal were sent to his mother, Mrs. Agnes
Papillon, Richelieu, Quebec. The
Plaque (Dead Man’s Penny) and Scroll were sent to his father, Octave Papillon
at the same address
