was killed in action and buried in the Bedford House Cemetery, Zillebeke,
Belgium. Below is the original wood
cross erected on his grave, as well as the current granite marker that
replaced the wood cross
Following the war, the 1914-15
Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal, Plaque (Dead Man’s Penny), Scroll and
Memorial Cross were sent to his mother, Mrs. J. Carney, 16 Seneca St., St.
Catharines, Ontario (she had remarried)
