The 21st Battalion trained in the Kingston, Ontario area through the winter of 1914-15.

While in Kingston, he played goal for the battalion’s soccer team

Disembarked in Devonport, England and the battalion proceeded to the West Sandling Camp, near Hythe, Kent to continue training

Sentenced to 120 hours Detention for being AWL (Absent Without Leave)

 

Sep 8, 1915

Declared to be a Deserter by a Court of Inquiry and struck off the strength of the battalion

All medal entitlement was forfeited
