Transferred to the 21st Battalion

Arrived at the CBD (Canadian Base Depot) in the Rouelles Camp, Havre, France and was Taken On Strength of the 21st Battalion

Before he could join the 21st Battalion at the front, he was transferred to the 4th Canadian Machine Gun Company

After leaving the base depot, Private Preston joined the 4th Canadian Machine Gun  Company near Vierstraat, Belgium
