While the 21st
Battalion was in the front-line trench west of Neuville-Vitasse, they came
under heavy artillery bombardment and Private Morley Richardson was
killed. He was buried a short time
later in the Bellacourt Military Cemetery, Bellacourt, France
Following the war the British
War Medal, Victory Medal, Plaque (Dead Man’s Penny) and Scroll were sent to
his father, George Richardson, RR #1 Harold, Ontario
The Memorial Cross was sent to
his mother, Mrs. Carrie Richardson at the same address.
He is also remembered on his
parent’s grave marker in the Stirling, Ontario Cemetery
