The 21st Battalion trained in the Kingston, Ontario area through the winter of 1914-15.

Disembarked in Devonport, England and the battalion proceeded to the West Sandling Camp, near Hythe, Kent to continue training

Proceeded on the Bombing Course

Rejoined the battalion on the Ypres Salient from the bombing course

Sentenced to 14 days Field Punishment No. 1 for Insolence to an NCO

 

Aug 25, 1916

Admitted to the No. 12 CCS (Casualty Clearing Station) with a diagnosis that reads Urticaria, a skin rash

Rejoined the battalion resting in Zouafques, France

 

Dec 14, 1916

Granted 10 days leave

Declared to be AWL (Absent Without Leave) when he didn’t return from leave

 

Feb 2, 1917

Arrived at the CBD (Canadian Base Depot) in the Rouelles Camp in Havre, France as a Prisoner

The charge of being absent was withdrawn.  There is no explanation given for this in the file and no punishment was handed out

 

Feb 15, 1917

After leaving the base depot, he rejoined the 21st Battalion near St. Eloi, France

Feb 11, 1918

Joined the CCRC (Canadian Corps Reinforcement Camp) from leave

According to pay records, Private Robinson remained at the reinforcement camp throughout 1918

His next of kin was later changed to read Mrs. Marie S. Robinson (nee Dablemont), wife, Ames, Par Lillers, France

Proceeded to England and transferred to the EORD (Eastern Ontario Regimental Depot) and posted to “B” Wing at the Canadian Concentration Camp in Witley, England for duty

Posted to “H” Wing in Witley for duty

 

Aug 14, 1919

Transferred to CDD (Canadian Discharge Depot) in Buxton pending return to Canada

Embarked the SS Adriatic in Southampton with his wife Marie

Disembarked in Halifax, Nova Scotia

Discharged from the CEF in Halifax, Nova Scotia

Trevor Robinson died of a heart attack at home, 230 Everett St., Pembroke, Ontario and was buried in the Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery in Pembroke
