caused little damage. However Private
Rosebush was killed and was buried in a field between Neuville Saint Vaast
and Thelus by his comrades.
When the war ended, the
Imperial War Graves Commission attempted to locate his remains for reburial
in a cemetery but his identifiable body could not be found and as such, his name
is listed on the Canadian National Vimy Memorial, Vimy Ridge, France for
those killed during the war with no known grave.
Following the war, the British
War Medal, Victory Medal, Plaque (Dead Man’s Penny), Scroll and Memorial
Cross were sent to his mother, Mrs. Susan Rosebush, Coe Hill, Ontario
