Following the war the British War Medal,
Victory Medal, Plaque (Dead Man’s Penny), Scroll and 2 Memorial Crosses were sent to
his widow, Mrs B Sands, at 73 Isabella St, Toronto Ontario.
She received the second Memorial Cross as Pte Sands’ mother had passed away
after he had been killed.
