Peter Shangrow

Peter Shangrow was a member of the Quartermaster Stores Section.  He is pictured above, second from right.  It is worthy to note that he lied about his age as he was considered to be too old to serve.  It is also interesting to note that his son, Robert Shangrow lied about his age (he was too young) to join the Battalion with his father.

Ø      Next of kin given as Mrs Jane Shangrow (recorded as mother, but later changed to read wife) of 22 Elgin St, Kingston Ontario

o       He lied about his age and gave 1875 as his year of birth on attestation

o       It is also of interest that his son, Robert Bruce Shangrow attested into the Battalion and lied about his age as well, he was too young, where as his father was too old.
