William Taylor Shepherd, MM

Apr 23, 1887

Born at Dundee Scotland

There are several variations on the spelling of his name.  I have found it spelled Shepherd, Shephard, Shepphard, Sheppard and Shepard.  I have chosen to use the Shepherd spelling, as that is the spelling that he gave on entry to Canada from Scotland in 1913.  As well, that is the spelling used in most entries in the Battalion’s Part II Orders.  It should be noted that most of these variations in spelling are found within his service file.
