Sep 16, 1916 Admitted to the Moore Barracks Hospital in Lower Dibgate with a fractured left tibia after being struck by an automobile in Hythe.  It was noted that he was intoxicated at the time

Taken On Strength Military District No. 2 and posted to “D” Unit in Toronto, Ontario

Admitted to Military Convalescent Hospital, College St., Toronto for treatment of pain in his fractured leg.  On admission he was noted as also having flat feet

Reading glasses were ordered after an eye exam

 

Dec 22, 1917

To be treated as an out patient

 

Jan 3, 1918

Transferred to the base hospital with a diagnosis that reads VDS (Venereal Disease Syphilis)

He is noted as refusing treatment

 

Jan 8, 1918

Transferred to the Spadina Military Hospital in Toronto

On admission he was noted as being over age and suffering from debility from his previously fractured leg

Granted sick leave until January 14, 1918

 

Jan 30, 1918

Instep support supplied for his flat feet.  Complains of pain in his shoulder

 

Apr 13, 1918

Complained of pain in the left side of his chest and complete bed rest was ordered.

 

Apr 18, 1918

Discharged from hospital and reported to Military District No. 2

 

Sep 17, 1918

Discharged from the CEF in Toronto, Ontario

He was discharged to the care of the ISC (Invalided Soldier’s Commission) to receive further treatment

Edward Arthur Skill died at home in Toronto, Ontario of a Cerebral Thrombosis brought on by Hypostatic Pneumonia.  He was buried in the Park Lawn Cemetery in Toronto
