After leaving the base depot, he joined the CC Rein C (Canadian Corps Reinforcement Camp) in Calonne Ricouart, France

After leaving the reinforcement camp, Private Steffanelli joined the 21st Battalion in the Suburban Camp near Villers au Bois, France and was posted to “B” Company

Admitted to the No. 6 CFA (Canadian Field Ambulance) with a diagnosis that reads PUO (Pyrexia of Unknown Origin), sometimes referred to as Trench Fever.  He was transferred the same day to the No. 4 Canadian Field Ambulance

Transferred via the No. 14 AT (Ambulance Train) and admitted to the St. John’s Ambulance Brigade Hospital in Etaples, France

On arrival in England, he was admitted to the Horton, County of London War Hospital in Epsom and the diagnosis was changed to read Trench Fever

The 21st Battalion led the 2nd Canadian Division across the Bonn Bridge to enter Germany as part of the Occupying Force and proceeded to Siegburg

Embarked the Western Australia in Havre, France

 

 

On arrival in England, he was attached to “P” Wing in Witley pending return to Canada

Embarked the SS Caronia in Liverpool

 

 

May 22, 1919

Disembarked in Halifax, Nova Scotia and proceeded to Kingston, Ontario by train

 

May 24, 1919

Discharged from the CEF in Kingston, Ontario
