Embarked the SS Northland in Halifax, Nova Scotia

 

 

Oct 28, 1916

Disembarked in Liverpool, England and the battalion proceeded to Bramshott

 

Dec 5, 1916

Transferred to the 21st Battalion

 

Dec 6, 1916

Arrived at the CBD (Canadian Base Depot) in the Rouelles Camp, Havre, France and TOS (Taken On Strength) the 21st Battalion

 

Dec 8, 1916

After leaving the base depot, Private Storms joined the 21st Battalion resting in Divisional Reserve in Bully Grenay, France

 

Mar 20, 1917

Admitted to the No. 2 CFA (Canadian Field Ambulance) with a diagnosis that reads Bronchitis.  He was transferred the same day to the No. 42 CCS (Casualty Clearing Station) for further treatment

 

Mar 22, 1917

Transferred via the No. 28 AT (Ambulance Train) and admitted to the No. 26 General Hospital, Etaples, France

 

Apr 9, 1917

Diagnosis changed to read Pulmonary Tuberculosis and transferred to the No. 2 General Hospital in Havre

 

Apr 13, 1917

Invalided to England aboard the Hospital Ship Panama

 

 
On arrival in England he was admitted to the Burmondsy Military Hospital, Ladywell Road, London

 
Posted to the EORD (Eastern Ontario Regimental Depot) for pay purposes while in hospital

 

May 24, 1917

Transferred to the Ontario Military Hospital in Orpington

 

Jul 21, 1917

Embarked the Hospital Ship Letitia in Liverpool and invalided to Canada

 

 

Aug 2, 1917

Disembarked in Halifax, Nova Scotia and proceeded to Kingston, Ontario

 

Aug 5, 1917

Admitted to the Mowat Memorial Hospital in Kingston

 

Apr 28, 1918

Willard Nelson Storms died of Pulmonary Tuberculosis while a patient in the Mowat Sanitorium, Portsmouth, Ontario (now part of Kingston).  He was later buried in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bancroft, Ontario

 

 

Apr 17, 1919

His widow Delma, was remarried to Daniel McKenzie in Bancroft, Ontario

 
Following the war, the British War Medal, Victory Medal, Plaque (Dead Man’s Penny), Scroll and Memorial Cross were sent to his widow, Mrs. D. McKenzie, Bancroft, Ontario

 
A second Memorial Cross was sent to his mother, Mrs. Nelson Storms, Picton, Ontario

 

Willard Nelson Storms is remembered on the
War Memorial in Bancroft, Ontario

 

 

He is also remembered on the War Memorial in Picton, Ontario
