During the advance on
Vimy Ridge, Pte Ticehurst was reported to be missing.
The next day his body was recovered and he was declared to have been killed the
previous day. He was buried in a mass
grave in crater CB – 2A. This was later
renamed the Lichfield Crater British Cemetery. Because
this is a mass grave, the exact location of his remains is not known and those buried
there are commemorated on a wall around the cemetery.
